DYNAMIC YOGA VINYASA TEACHER TRAINING
SYLLABUS

Each of the first three Immersion Modules is open to anyone with a deep, practical interest in yoga. These modules are always nonresidential. The last two modules are only open to certified or trainee yoga teachers and those who have attended all three of the Immersion Modules. These two will only take place once a year and will usually be residential. Each module has its own set of course materials. Some will be sent by email before the module, the rest given as a data cd at the end of each module. This includes recordings of classes for you to practice from, talks on the dynamics of practice and teaching, images of the series and much more.

The 32 hour, four day METHOD MODULE clarifies the fundamental biomechanical principles of integrative action (the Dynamics of Integrity) and the Seven Universal Actions of Yoga Posture Practice. They are learnd, applied and assimilated in over 80 dynamic and postural techniques that sensitise, awaken, open and strengthen all the major muscle groups and joints in the body so that the structural and functional integrity of the body becomes available. You will learn these techniques in the cointext of two Vinyasa Training series: VINYASAXANDRASYA, VINYASASUXMASYA. This module is open to any yoga practitioner.

The 32 hour, four day DYNAMIC MODULE focusses on clarifying and activating the bandhas in the whole body. This activation is based on the Seven Universal Actions of Yoga Posture Practice that establish the bandhas in the whole body (Sarvangabandha). This inlcudes Merubandha, Hastabandha, Padabandha, Mulabandha, Uddyanabandh and Jalandharabandha. We will clarify their direct relationship to both respiration and structural integrity. You will learn over 70 dynamic and postural techniques in the context of two Vinyasa Training series: VINYASAMERASYA, VINYASASUPTASYA. This module is open to any yoga practitioner.

The 32 hour, four day INTEGRATION MODULE focusses on the application of Sarvangabandha to over 60 ullola, standing postures, backebends, forward bends, rotations, extensions and inversions in the context of two Vinyasa Training series: VINYASAXIKITSA, VINYASADANDASYA. These Series will also be used to clarify the subtelties of the yoga method: breath-body synchronisation, free breathing, ujjayi breathing, soft core andminimum muscular effort and 10 pranayama and meditation techniques.This module is open to any yoga practitioner.

The 32 hour, four day TEACHING SKILLS MODULE presents and explores the theory of teaching yoga dynamically. This includes the Art of Progressive Instruction (Vinyasa Krama), Group Dynamics, Communication Dynamics, the Mechanisms of Somatic Education, the Principles of Teaching from the Body. Concrete expressions of these principles will be demonstrated by Course tutors within the context of Progressive Instruction (Vinyasa Krama). This module is open to any trained or trainee yoga teacher.

The 32 hour, four day TEACHING PRACTICE MODULE will put into practice the Principles of Teaching from the body, The Mechanisms of Somatic Education, Communication Dynamics, Group Dynamics and the Art of Progressive Insruction (Vinyasa Krama). All trainess will practice teaching in groups of three and will present a Vinyasa Krama of specifed aspects and techniques of the yoga method. This is not an examination or assessment process. It is an opportunity to recognise and relinquish common errors and misunderstandings that inhibit the effectiveness of yoga teaching. This module is open to any trained or trainee yoga teacher.

200 Hour Certification is available on satisfactory completion of all five modules.
